S10 - Mijn haren ruiken naar vuur (Solid White Vinyl LP)

Back in 2022, De Diepte was my personal anthem and the reason to embark on the journey of learning Dutch. Ik Besta Voor Altijd Zolang Jij Aan Mij Denkt, expectedly, has become my lifeline and helped my through a lot, reaching #1 on my Last.FM. Mijn haren ruiken naar vuur is an excellent evolution from the previous album and its deeply personal and stunningly moody songs.

I am very happy to witness more upbeat S10, although we have not lost even the tiniest bit of personal topics. The style change is the most logical continuation of her art; it lets you see that life really just goes on. And while there are certainly more problems or other serious things to deal with, it does not mean you cannot show some attitude while sorting them out or feel more relaxed around them.

The vinyl is beautiful, the posters are great, and I really wanted to have this fantastic cover being displayed in my room. My only pity about this set is the quality of the envelope: without a protective outer sleeve, it does this weird bump along the openings and completely refuses to cooperate despite my best attempts to straighten it out. It does not even lie flat, so I assume this is just a poor quality paper/craftsmanship, which is sad, and I put my blame on the label.

Despite this issue, which is, after all, cosmetic, the album is truly incredible. In just a month since its release, I am already nearing a thousand streams on it (excluding streams from singles). This might not be a big number for you, but this is a #8 in my all-time records, and it is already above some albums I have been listening to for more than 5 years.
