On Saturday, April 12th, it's finally Record Store Day again. The best day of the year—for us, that is. Every record store will have exclusive (re)releases (more on that later), and artists will be performing. Velvet Leiden is no exception. Between 11:00 AM and 6:00 PM, there will be live music from Antje Krook, De Kraaien, Marta Arpini, Kalima, and Pommelien Thijs.
Antje Krook (11:00 - 11:30) has been racking up the slack for a few years now as Leiden's leading ska group. De Kraaien (12:00 - 12:30) exploded thirteen years ago with "Ik Vind Je Lekker" (I Find You Nice), and the masked Hagenezen are still a sensation. Marta Arpini (14:00 - 14:30) traded her jazz career for stylish, passionate singer-songwriter music in the style of Blake Mills and Andy Shauf. She's bringing her new album , Tender Superpower . Kalima (15:30 - 16:00) will make the sun shine even when it rains with their irresistible Leiden cumbia. And finally, Pommelien Thijs (17:00 - 17:30) will close things out with mega-hits like "Erop of eronder" (Op of Erop or Eronder) and "Het beste moet nog komen" (The Best Must Yet Come).
